Suitable projects for outsourcing include: development of a shader or effect; a game subsystem such as a path-finding module or character customization system; a pipeline component such as a game-asset validation plug-in; a proof-of-concept prototype of a game idea.
The client provides a technical brief describing the desired final product. A schedule is negotiated and then development begins. Progress is reviewed at regular intervals until the final product is delivered to the client and approved. Billing for outsourcing projects can be based on actual days of development time or a flat rate can be negotiated.
